I would like to be able to connect to the internet through bluetooth to my laptop that has an aircard with the connection shared. It is just a simple connection with my Palm but I can't figure out which settings to use to connect the N800 this way.

I think N800's bluetooth doesn't support PAN profile (or something like that). It only supports DUN profile. There has been some threads about converting PAN profile to DUN profile on Windows Mobile devices so you can connect your N800 to them. I think there should be similar applications for (Windows) laptops or PCs.

If your laptop has an aircard, I assume that you are getting your internet via wifi? Why not just use the N800 to connect to the same APN via wifi?

The air card is cellular - EVDO Rev. A to be exact. Unless I don't understand what you are saying, I don't think that I can just 'connect' to it.

You are right - I was mistaken.

Does your laptop have wifi? You should be able to share the internet connection and setup an adhoc wifi connection for the N800.

Good luck with it.

That would work too. I'll have to see if I can figure out how to set it up. Thanks.

When I had a Verizon wwan card in my company laptop I set up ICS and had an ad hoc wifi connection to my 770. I think windows limits ad hoc wifi to 802.11b speeds. But it works. Couldn't try bluetooth because my IBM thinkpad had no bluetooth.
Worked great as my IBM was a battery powered mobile hotspot...yes I could have surfed directly on the IBM but that wouldn't have been as cool now would it?
