Control Panel > Text Input > Languages tab > Settings > Word Completion (checkbox)
That's where to turn off word completion. As far as I know, it is not possible to prevent specific words typed from being saved, or to remove specific currently saved words. This may be possible if you find the dictionary file in Linux?

Also, I notice that my N800 running OS2008 does not save passwords that were entered into website password fields which are hidden (like "*******" when you enter them)
You may have typed your password into a non-password field at some point?

You can remove individual words from being displayed as candidates by long pressing over a displayed candidate and selecting the remove word command from the popup. This will permanently remove the word from being displayed ever again.

How do I get access to the /home/user/.osso/hildon-input-method folder? Itried but it says permission denied. I want to clear words inserted by another user who borrowed my baby.

er...no. I guess I'll have to figure out how to do that.
The suggested words in the bottom of the (sft) keyboard we see when entering the keystrokes are now shown my passwords for various sites, email passwords for example!
This is no fun for me !
How do we disable/delete those suggested words? Where are they stored?
