I've been reading many thread recently where people complain about problems that they have when running on OS2008, and was wondering if it would be a good idea to put up a sticky of the list of known issues, e.g.

1. Installation of FM Radio application on N800 causes OS2008 to not work properly with Bluetooth headsets

2. Installation of OGG codec for media player causes problems with audio in/out when using VoIP services, e.g. Skype, Gizmo, SIP

3. Finger keyboard no longer works unless you apply fat pressure on the text area.

Feel free to keep adding to the list above

This sticky could be cross-posted to the Newbies sub-forum as well.

What makes you say that? The finger keyboard works just fine. . . .

To be specific, the finger keyboard no longer pops up when a finger is applied to the screen like it used to back in OS2007.

Unless, if course, you managed to get it working again without using the centre button on the navigation pad...

I have to double tap with my finger to get it to pop up, but it does work. Its probably a bug fix and will be released with the next release of os2008

I almost dread typing on my N800 since OS2008 came out. There are many times where the letters double press. I almost can't type a word without getting double letters.
Also there are times when I click on the screen and the tap registers somewhere else on the screen. For instance, when I click on a letter some times, the program menu opens up. It's not all the time it does that, but it's frequent enough to be annoying.
I do find that the whole OS2008 feels slower than the beta version of OS2008 too.

Don't we have the Wiki for that already? What I do miss in this forum is the habit of updating the original posts like is done in many other forums. That way the most relevant and up-to-date info is always in the first post and you don't have to wade through 10 pages of comments.

Adammelancon, I thought I was the only one with this problem. I also experience this - both when 'finger' typing and as well, with the stylus.

Have you also noticed that when selecting a text entry box (google searchline, etc,) sometimes what you are typing does not actually type on the screen although the N8*0 does do it's word completion bit?

I have, quite often. It's highlighted blue but nothing goes in. I have to keep tapping.

Add to the list....the History (from Menu) is always empty in the microb browser.

Perhaps I missed something, but I couldn't find the part in the Wiki that covers Known Issues with OS2008
