After I upgraded my n800 to os2008, my thumb keyboard not longer works...every time when I touch the text entry field, just the stylus pen keyboard comes up. I can press the center dpad key to pull up the thumb keyboard. It's very annoying that the thumb KB not working. It works on the OS2007. Yes. I checked the setting on the control panel to have the thumb KB open when tapped on the screen. This thread doesn't really provide a solution.

Is there a way to fix this thumb kb things or I have to wait for a fix from Nokia? Thank you.

P.S. Is there a way that I can check the CPU info on the N800?

The thumb keyboard works, but you have to use a whole lot more force to open it or you can push the dpad center key to open it.

I just upgraded to OS2008 as well and noticed that it is a lot harder to bring up the full screen keyboard, which bothers me too. Also, the option to adjust how much pressure it takes (which was in OS2007, though I never needed to adjust it) as vanished in 2008. It crossed my mind that it may increase its sensitivity if you uncheck the box to open it with the d-pad (since then the finger tap is the only way to) but my tests from te last few minutes are inconclusive. It may also be possible to change that sensitivity via a .conf file somewhere or with the gconf editor.

I suppose it makes sense that 2008 is a little more finger friendly overall (since the 810's d-pad is under the slider) but less so for text entry (since it has a keyboard).

Personally, though, I've found the browser a litle annoyingly resistant to clicking links with my fingers, too, though.

Just use the center d-pad. That's 100% reliable.

Is there any plan to re-tune the touch-screen sensitivity in OS2008 for the N800 in a future release? I've certainly noticed that some things don't work as well as they did in OS2007, and from what I've read, other people have noticed too (e.g., the increased key bounce on the stylus keyboard). I know that I wished for increased touch sensitivity for scrolling in the browser in OS2007, but now we're stuck with the worst of both worlds - scrolling in microB is awful anyway, and the increased sensitivity seems to have made things worse in other areas.
