I'm pretty sure it currently just provides and abstract way of letting you know where you are within the Canola UI. There were plans to make it tappable, but I'm not sure they are going to implement it.

actually if something is playing, tapping that icon takes you to the player from wherever you are..

I have seen two states. When it shows a play arrow it's tappable and takes you to the music player screen. When it shows 4 boxes (?) it does nothing when tapped.

I posted about this as well and I got this as the response from Marcelo. It's an unfinished UI feature to, I think, bring you back to the home screen from anywhere.

Brontide : actually, like I said it was supposed to be our "task switcher" shortcut. Because you can implement plugins that ended up running on the background and that would give you a fast shortcut to it (2 touches maximum) but as the team decreased, and we have sometimes 2 or 3 projects running at the sametime, really bringing our canola development performance a little bit down : / things get "cut" from the priority list :/

Sorry for not explaining before.

My two cents: the locations of the left-hand and right-hand icons seem backward to me. In the main UI screen (i.e. when no app window is up), the battery/WiFi icons are on the right, and the app-switch/etc controls are on the left.

Brian : I didn't get what you wanted to say here : /
What do you mean by the left-hand - right hand icons ? The top icons will be always located at the same side. Never change. They are just like the home scrren.

Wifi is never on the right is always on the left! are you getting stuff on the righ?

*explain a little bit more what you mean, than I will comment correctly

i think he means that the two should be switched, wifi to the right, and switcher to the left

Unm,

Well, I think he has a point but I don't agree too much Following the whole concept, and based on the frequency of use, I would say that top-right is the most used, and should hold the feature that will be used most. The top-left is the system shortcut, so for me makes sense and connects to the concept since the beginning :/

But I now understand why he thinks that but before the thing is complete, it's hard to judge : /
