Hey!

Now I really (and with that I mean really really) like the N810. But here's a problem. It would be perfect to replace my N70 but it isn't a phone. Sooo ... I suppose you guys know quite a lot about this stuff and if /when Internet tablets like N810 are becoming also a phone (with SMS and MSM aswell)?

Thanks for any explanation

I don't think my tablet is becoming a phone... wait, I'm looking under the battery cover... HEY, there's a little SIM-slot growing in there; maybe it is becoming a phone!

Sarcasm aside, the NIT's are, as far as anyone can tell, not getting cell technology.

Maybe WiMAX for better "on the go" data coverage that may be used with gizmo and/or skype, but no direct phone tech.

You can actually use Skype on the tablet through a Bluetooth mobile phone connection, so technically there is some kind of mobile phone capability, but it still requires you to have a separate phone as well.

It's not a phone more than a laptop is a phone.. or a desktop computer.. this is what the Internet tablets are: Extra-small computers, with wi-fi and bluetooth.

Or you could do what I'm trying to do. I keep my N95-3 and my N810 with me all the time and I've read about running phonelink and contactinfo to route all calls and SMS through the tablet over Bluetooth from my phone, but I haven't been able to get it to work yet. I would imagine the N70 would be capable of something similar?

Could be, but N70 is quite old I guess. It's Symbian 2nd edition (while N95 is 3rd) which basically means much more functionality and new stuff coming each week probably making it easier to achieve something like that... Interesting idea though (if you manage to do it, would appreciate a tutorial or stg )

The versions of S60 shouldn't matter. Both the N70 and the N95-3 have Bluetooth 2.0, so I see no reason why it wouldn't work. The problem is getting the application to work in general. I'll let you know. I'm a struggling newb as it is.
