Hi,

I've just released OpenSSH 1:4.7p1-2.maemo2.
This is bugfix release. It should fix upgrade from previous versions and
bug #2332(unsupported options in config).

You can install it from garage project page [1], maemo downloads site [2] or maemo extras repositories for 3 maemo distributions - gregale(OS2006), bora(OS2007) and chinook(OS2008).

Please test it and report your findings/wishes to openssh garage bug/feature request tracker.

BR,
Ed

Now upgrade / installation seems to be completely broken. I did try to install the upgrade, and it failed due to ufilled dependencies (I think someting about dropbear).

As the same thing happened on the last openssh update and back then I was able to solve the problem by completely uninstalling an reinstalling openssh I did try the same thing again.

But now after uninstalling openssh it's not even possible to reinstall it.

Edit: to be more precise, its' not possible to install openssh-client and therefore also not the openssh metapackage. The reason seems to be, that the openssh-client package is corrupted. Redownloading / clearing the apt-get cache doesn't help.
Just installing the openssh-common and openssh-server packages is working fine.

iskarion: On which ITOS did you try to install it?
I've just installed openssh-client on my OS2008 without any problem.

BTW, do you have dropbear installed? openssh-client conflicts with dropbear.

Upgrade isn't working for me;

Complains about not being able to find the 'openssh-common' dependency

One click install updates the 'openssh' meta-package but not the openssh-client and openssh-server packages

I couldn't be bothered with the openssh problems so I just did in terminal:
dpkg --purge --force-all openssh
dpkg --purge --force-all openssh-client
dpkg --purge --force-all openssh-common
dpkg --purge --force-all openssh-server

and reinstalled.

Code:
apt-get upgrade
is all that's needed.

This is reinstallation. The issue I'm trying to solve is with upgrades.

I know. But as an end user, I just want to be to use the product. If that involves removing and reinstalling , then so be it.

Can you show me exac application manager message? Which ITOS do you use? From where and which packages did you try to install?

That's another story. Thanks for the info, I'll look at it.

Did you try to upgrade it end-user way? I mean using application manager?
