It is already understood that the N800 has a low audio problem. However, the problem is compounded by the Nokia Video Converter Application. The audio level of the converted video file is very low, even when played using VLC player on a PC.

Is there a configuration file that the Nokia Video Converter can look at and be told to increase the audio gain?

I have another DVD to AVI converter called #1 DVD Ripper that allows gain control of the audio. Unfortunately, the AVI files produced by this program are not recognized by mplayer on the N800.

I don't know about the NVC, but the N800 Video Convert has a normalize button, and I find the audio volume just fine if I use it. I start out with DVD Shrink.

Can you file a feature request please at https://bugs.maemo org about the audio gain?
