Maybe it is, and I'm just not seeing it. Because Internet Tablet School said I might have a bug in the internal memory card, I decided to reformat the card. I created a backup from the internal to the removable. So, I go to removable, select Backup, go to "Tools" select backup/restore. A new page opens with Backup highlighted in blue. I hit the restore button on bottom, select (check mark) all applications and hit "OK". "Restore Backup?" "device will restart" appears...i hit okay. Goes through the motions, the NIT restarts...once restarted a "Restoring complete, 28 mb restored" window pops up. I hit "OK". Then "Application Manger require to re-install applications. Start Application manager now?" window pops up. I hit "OK" The the Application manger window pops up with 3 options "show installed applications" "Browse Installable applications" "Check for updates" I hit the "show installed applications" and 4 things come up. libuiw, map, osso-xterm, skype.

My question is this, are these things re-installed, and if so, why are they still listed as "backup" under File Manger?

Thank you all so much for all the help.

Just out of question, is your tablet in offline mode? It isn't reinstalling anything. I had to take my tablet out of offline mode before my apps would reinstall.

One last thing, when I go to backups under File manager on the Internal memory and select them, the window on right opens up and lists numerous things in zip form ie applications.zip, backup.metad...., bookmarks.zip, contacts.zip

You can tell if it's on offline mode if you have a red line through the connection icon.

Press the power button and if it says normal mode, choose it (if it says offline mode, you are in normal mode already and that isn't the problem then)

It says Device Mode. Lock Touch screen and keys, Offline Mode, Lock Device, Switch Off!

Any suggestions? Did you see where I said earlier about the .zip options?

Oh. Yes, you do need to have a working internet connection.

One last thing, when I go to backups under File manager on the Internal memory and select them, the window on right opens up and lists numerous things in zip form ie applications.zip, backup.metad...., bookmarks.zip, contacts.zip
That;s just the backup files. Not really sure what can be done with them without the backup tool.

So, I need to get an active wifi connection before this will work? Or, can I hook into my PC via USB? Either case. So, I'll go over to my friends house, get an internet connection and then what? Thank you so much for your help!!!

Yes

A USB connection won't do it, it needs to be wifi (or another sort of connection that gets you onto the internet :P)

If you connect to the wifi, just set it to restore the application list and try again

Np , good luck
