Hello,

Does anyone know how I can transfer mp3 files from an n810 to an ipod so that the ipod database gets updataed properly?

I have transferred the files, but the itunesdb needs to be updated for the ipod to recognise they are there to play.

An alternative would be to get the nano to rebuild the db, but I don't know if that is possible.

I would copy the files to my PC, load them into iTunes and then transfer them to the iPod via iTunes.

So would I. I figured that people would infer from my question that I didn't have access to a pc else I would not be asking the question.

I am travelling for the next few weeks so I am looking for a non-PC solution.

I'm not sure what kind of ipod you have but I did find this for the shuffle. If it doesn't help at all sorry.

It should work when you get libgpod + gtkpod compiled and working. Of course, you would need to have all that fancy cables one needs to give the internet tablet a "big" usb port to which you can hook up your iPod.

Alternatively, there exists "gnupod".

www.gnu.org/software/gnupod/ and
