took me a while to figure out why my damn alarm wasn't alarm-ing like it should. took the drastic step of apt-get purging osso-clock and all dependencies (many!) with the intent of re-installing. then realized that the built-in apps aren't available on the repos. a reflash later...

and it turns out that with powerlaunch installed, the alarm doesn't go off. anyway, hope that saves someone some pain...
