I have a AT&T Tilt with WM6 and I also have the unlimited data plan. I connect my Nokia N800 to it using Bluetooth Pan. I am not sure it works the same on the 8525 but I use internet share to connect to the Tablet.
First run "internet sharing" on the Phone. If it is not on you programs menu look for it in the windows directory using file manager. AT&T removes it from the programs menu on my phone but I created a short cut back to it.
under PC connection select Bluetooth Pan
under Network connection select"MEdia Net"
The AT&T ISP GPRS never works for me.
Next hit connect and it should connect to the 3G network OK if your phone supports 3G, but sometimes it uses the slower network (E showes on the top menu)
Make sure you tablet is paired with the tablet. I had to pair them using the phone to start the pairing. I do not know why by it would not connect to Bluetooth pan if I did the pairing started by the N800.
Make sure you have Bluetooth pan installed on your Tablet
Now on the nokia tablet select "Change connection" from the Connection menu and select "Bluetooth Pan". Make sure internet sharing is still connected on the phone before selecting Bluetooth pan or it will not connect.
Important** If the Tablet do not connect to the phone and it shows the bluetooth pan connection on the tablet as the active connection, never select disconnect on the tablet. First select change connection and select another connection.
** If I select disconnect on my tablet and the phone is not connect to the internet or the tablet said connection failed and I press disconnect the tablet will reboot without warning.
So far I have used this way for 3 months and no extra tethering charges have shown on my bill. I think Some of the other ways of connecting to your phone require a tethering plan.
I hope this helps

i'm trying to tether an n800 with a cingular/at&t 8525 smartphone. unlimited data plan. i've installed the pan hack, but don't know what to do with it.
here's what i think i'm supposed to do:
1. set up connection, using "data call"
2. *99# as DUN, isp@cingular.com as user, cingular1 as pw.
3. didn't touch advanced settings.
tried selecting both "at&t internet" (the name of the new connection--it just fails), and "bluetooth-pan".
when the latter is selected, it then says "searching for phone", and then "could not connect to phone". any help appreciated. the phone is recognized otherwise.
