Hi,

I am seriously considering to buyt a BT keyboard so that I can easily do "high volume typing" when at home. My main concern is to have a good and reliable keyboard.

Which one qhould I take ?

Thank you

I have one of the little Apple bluetooth keyboards and it works just fine. It is the same as what they put in their laptops. The keymappings are a little strange in some respects but there should be a workaround if you don't mind hacking the tablet.

Apple has the reputation to be very expensive. How much did you pay ? What are the references of this keyboard ?

I have the Apple Bluetooth Keyboard. For typing, it works great. I can type on it just as fast as my laptop but it's way too big to be practical. You might as well carry your laptop around. I am returning mine to best buy this weekend and buying the Nokia keyboard. Here is a picture of it.

As far as pairing it, it was the easiest pair I have ever done. It found it immediately and pair right up.

I have the Stowaway Ultraslim BT keyboard and find it excellent. Costs around 40 US$ these days.

I finally bought the Igo BT keyboard which is just great minus several "misplaced" keys such as the /.

As for pairing it, the first time it was a real pain since there was no indication on what to do exactly Now it works like a champ though I wish it would have paired automatically (I have to manually "plug" it to use it).

I had that keyboard and after about a month of using it, the "jkl;" keys stopped working. I gave it to a friend who has an N810 also.

I'm just going to ante up and buy the Nokia keyboard I think.

Maybe an HP one. IDK.

The IGO one I had just felt vulnerable. I'd like something a bit more sturdy

I got the iGo, didn't like it, and rarely use it. I am considerring getting a usb keyboard, since I bought one of those adapters that will probably work with many usb keyboards . How often do you want to be significantly far from your tablet while you are typing into it?

i have the Nokia bt keyboard and am not overtlyimpressed. i use it with my nokia n82 as well, but find i have to re pair it every time after using it with the other device. it works fairly well with the phone, but with the n810 it keeps on picking up duplicate keypressessss. anyone else experiencing this. finally - cant we have a rechargable battery in it? having to keep on buying aaa batteries - which dont last all that long, is a pain

Well the pointingmouse ebay seller has some nice-looking USB boards; there's a thread around.

You're right about the wireless; also, you're usually using the kickstand already when you use a keyboard, so the USB-kickstand interference is a non-issue. Presentations are the only real use I can think of, and a 6 foot cable would do most of those.

I don't know how you are on hardware skills, but jolouis might be putting up some cables as well before long; just a mini-B (OTGified) with 6 feet of cable, so you can replace the A cable of a keyboard (or whatever) with a direct-fitting plug, and not mess with the adapter for that peripheral... That on a USB keyboard (maybe trimmed shorter than 6 feet, or not) would satisfy 99% of uses.
