I've had my N800 (OS2008) for almost 6 months now. For the first time I am looking at installing a newer version of software that is already installed, specifically Maemo Mapper 2.3.1 >> 2.4. Do I need to uninstall 2.3.1 and install 2.4, or can I just install 2.4 and it will overwrite the previous version? Does this process vary program to program?
Thanks

Most of the apps can be updated easily. A few could give you trouble and in that case it doesn't hurt to uninstall and reinstall the newer. Give it a whirl, it should be ok.

Maemo Mapper, in particular, should update fine from one version to another.

Thanks for the help,
And thanks for a great piece of software.
I love Maemo Mapper, and I don't even have a GPS receiver yet (should be getting it in the next few days). I'm buying a Nokia LD-1W for $25 off a friend of mine that formerly used it with a Dell Axim, he has since bought a Garmin system and doesn't need this receiver anymore.
