I'm trying to install Personal Menu from maemo.org. I hit the install arrow and the N810 goes through various downloads, then starts a 2.85Mb section and stalls just before the progess bar completes.
I've tried a dozen or so times, it always stalls at the same point. Any idea what's happening?

I would try entering xterm as root and running apt-get update and seeing what error messages appear. Then ask again with the additional info. I've seen this problem and there are a few other things I'd try, but I'd rather a more authoritative voice would chime in.

The Chinook application manager always gives me problems when refreshing repositories (I assume that is the part causing trouble for you). This has been fixed in Diablo, but that doesn't do you any good.

Try just letting it run for as long as it takes. It eventually does time out, and you will get a message about some repositories not being reachable. Or you can try the apt-get update method.

Thanks for the advice. I let it run and run.....always stopping at the same point. Each time, I checked the installable apps and it wasn't there. Then, at about the 10th try, it was. I don't know what's going on exactly but all's well that ends well.
