My lcd on my n810 sporadically starts flickering horizontal/vertical lines and is showing a bit of static. It's very distracting when I'm trying to read something.

It started yesterday after I started it using after a few weeks of idling. I had to charge it to keep it running, I did turn it off and charge it then after I turned it back on, I observed this behavior after a few hours of use.

Sounds like a loose/broken LCD connection to me.

How do I verify that?

Exactly the same thing is happening on my N810. After a few hours of use it starts flickering (vertical line). It stopped doing that at some point, but then again after several hours of use, it flickers (one thick vertical line).

Not sure if I should try returning the unit back to CompUSA (I got it 2-3 weeks ago), since the vertical line flickering may not show up when once they get device back.

Or maybe I can do something about it, on my end. Don't know what. Connection, what does that mean? Open it up, and fix loosen connectors?

u probably should since u might get a replacement, or u might be able to return it and get it for a cheaper price since it's $299 now.

I'm returning mine, for replacement. I'm little bit worried if the one they send me, will also have issue with LCD? Is that something Nokia maybe should take care on 810?

it is not as common as WSOD of N770, is it?
If not, you do not have to worry.

I had the same problem today. Yesterday, I updated to the newest OS version. The NIT was connected to the battery charger and this morning I saw the same symptoms. There were vertical lines on the LCD and flickers. I tried to downgrade this morning and several restarts. Nothing helped.
I remarked that after a minute when the unit got a bit warm the flickering began anew.

So I decided to call the shop I bought the N810 and luckily I am still in the 30 days return time so I will get another unit...

I hope everything will work fine for me.

One week ago I got my replacement unit. Until now, everything works fine and I hope it will do so for a long time.
