As of about 20 minutes ago, I am the proud new owner of an N800. I got it on ebay, so I still have to wait for it but can't wait. In that time Im gonna ask a few questions.

1. I've read that they keep putting out firmware or whatever to help make it compatible with larger SDHC cards. Whats the largest I can get? I was thinking about getting a 32g and 16g. Will those work?

2. If it doesnt have the latest OS on it, where can I go to find it and is this difficult?

I think thats it for now, but I may comeback with more later.

Thanks!

-Steve

1. it says here 8GB, but I believe people are also using 16GB. Not sure about 32GB cards.

2. http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N800.php

It is not too difficult. Just check this page.

1. Yes, Either 32 or 16 will work fine with the device.
2. If it doesn't have the latest software on it go to http://www.nokiausa.com/A4410958 and on the bottom you can download the Nokia Internet Tablet Software Update Wizard. The last firmware is called Diablo but I don't recommend updating to it ( You will have a lot of troubles downloading some of the applications on it ) I'll recommend you to stay with OS2008 for now.

At least one person has a 32GB card in an N800.

I got my N800 a month ago from ebay (upgraded from a N700). I fully recommend upgrading to the latest version (diablo). Everything runs smoothly - I'm using 15+ apps, which all run fine.

Read what where? :\ Either you misunderstood or they were straight-up misinformed. Maemo has worked fine with any size of SDHC since was back in Summer 2007. You'll be fine with cards up to 2048GB.

Just do it, there's no point flashing Chinook now and having to do it all over again in a month or two.
