Does anyone know if you can setup MobileME to work on the N800?

Please remember to search first.

In summary, there's not a simple workaround, it's Apple's fault and I'm currently trying to get to somebody useful through their support channels.

Stevie admitted already that MobileMe was released not ready.

Oh, it rhymes too

Why? I can already connect to my gmail account directly in my tablets browser anywhere I can get a mobile phone signal.

What I would really like is a calendar and intellisync like the adverts from Nokia shout about on the front page of ITT. That really grips...

Why can my Nokia 6120 sync to my outlook, and my tablet can't. I'd even pay for it as a downlaodable extra like the navigation - be worth 50 quid!

True, but this system is push email (a la blackberry) and works also with Yahoo email.
The gmail client on Maemo is not a true push mail. Periodically it reads the email from the gmail server
