Hi,

I recently tried to get rdesktop working on my N810, but the GUIs fail silently, and CLI complains of not having the right libcrypt. Is there some master repo I'm missing? The available software seems incredibly limited, especially in the way of libs.

If you really mean rDesktop then try pyrDesktop - it works well.

You may want to check out this thread and ask any questions there.

Hope this helps.

That's just a frontend to the CLI version, it won't solve the errors I'm getting about libcrypt. Thanks, though, that looks pretty slick...once things are working!

That is strange... What OS verison are you using? A lot of people have been using pyRDesktop, and no one has reported a problem. Did you try the CLI package the comes with pyRDesktop, or a different CLI?

I tried the plain old rdesktop package first, then pyrdesktop.

What I ended up finding, for those who encounter the same problem, was that I needed libssl0.9.7, which can only be installed through "Red Pill Mode" of the package manager.

Everything works quite well now, and I laughed like a super villain upon seeing my desktop rendered quite nicely on the N810's screen.
