I tried downloading OPenVPN from the Maemo site and I get app not supported messages when I try to install. Does anyone know why this is happening? I just got my 770 last night and immediatley upgraded the OS to the latest 2006 version.

Thanks,

You have to use apps from Maemo 2 repository, search for list of
the repositories avaliable on
http://www.maemo.org/maemowiki/ApplicationCatalog2006

I, too downloaded openvpn from the site named in the ApplicationCatalog2006. The application manager says that the package isn't supported. The log file says

Package must have "Section: user/FOO" to be considered compatible.

What in the world does that mean?

Perhaps it means that as of recent times NOKIA is trying to 'FOO'(l) its ' IT 770 ' Users

Try enabling the 'red pill mode' in application manager. Briefly, choose tools->repository->new, type 'matrix' in the HTTP address field, then click on 'cancel'.
Menus could differ because I have the Italian version, but the path should be clear.
After this operation, packages should be installable.
Dont try to install other packages this way if you are not sure on what are you doing otherwise you can (temporarily until next flash ) brick your 770

Thanks! That worked. After I installed openVPN, I set the application manager back to 'blue pill mode' to protect myself from myself.
