Hi,

I am thinking about buying the Nokia N810, but I was wondering if videos from Megavideo or Hulu work on this well? I know youtube works well but I just needed to confirm the other two before I buy.

Thanks!

They work, but the stream is jittery and not watchable.

In two quick tests, the Megavideo player loaded and its progress bar indicated download and playback were occurring. However, the video area remained black and no audio was played. Switching to the "Small Player", which is a better fit for the N810's screen, did not change the results.

It appears Megavideo has coded their Flash player in some way that is incompatible with the Flash plug-in on the tablets.

EDIT: sachin007 is getting better results. Interesting.
Sorry i did not use megavideo in specific. I was talking about sites like dailymotion, hulu etc which use online flash.

Sorry for the confusion.

I'm having no luck with any Flash on my n810, You tube is total junk (stuttery video, sound out of synch) unless I watch it through Canola2. Is there a way to just reroute to other URLs with the Canola player?. Or make Canola2 default player for flash?

Canola2 uses mplayer for playing Flash videos. You can throw a URL with a FLV video directly at mplayer, too.

mplayer and thus Canola2 don't play any flash. Flash video is not flash. It's a video container like AVI or WMV that was designed for being loaded by flash applications (such as the player flash app on YouTube). Canola2 simply parses the YouTube web page to find the direct of URL of the video file to play it via mplayer. YouTube is trying to hide this direct video URL from the user (you shall not download).

I'm having the same problem with megavideo as sjgadsby; however, it is only recently that this happened - before it worked fine (about a month ago) for most shows
