Is that a LED flash that sits above the webcam? If so, is there anyway to use it? Is there any way to use it as a quick flashlight? I have that function on my cell to turn on the flash to use as a flashlight it would be awesome if i could do the same on my N810.

It is a light sensor, not a light producer.

You mean the light sensor, or the little RGB LED that glows when you are using the camera or a incoming email?

That's a good idea to be able to turn on that LED upon request rather than as a notification feature. I doubt that itcould be used in a "flash" capacity for the onboard camera (not really focussed in the right direction), but it would be great for an impromptu flashlight.

The little white square above the webcam is a photocell used to dim or brighten the display depending on the brightness of your surroundings.
