Now i understand that i bought my Nit at a very late stage in the game (dec 2008) have had an amazing experience with it until the new n900 came out..
Now i feel that i have been let down and it was a huge mistake to dump almost 400 dollars into this unit considering the short lifespan of my machine with no new upgrades.. my one biggest problem is the flash player that won't allow me to view justin tv live video any more becuase it seems to check the flash player installed and all i get is a black screen while the audio still plays..
If i had known that no new updates were going to happen i would have just opted out from buying this one and have waited the extra months and purchased the new n900..
anyone know if there might be a fix for this.. Considering the small size and its portability this was an awsome unit to view video in bed while the wife was counting sheep..
Anyone feel the same way i do

I am new to Maemo, but I think that you need to look into Mer, if you have a N8x0.

There is Mer to look forward to so I think there will eventually be updates. But I think flash might be a problem on that OS as well due to it's closed nature.

Note that Flash 10 is still not available for mobile devices, so the N900 is not THAT much better in that regard until Adobe delivers the goods.

Also, the processors in the N8x0 tablets wouldn't handle H.264 in Flash, as is increasingly used on the web, even if they had a Flash 10 plug-in.

Yeah I paid $190 in May and saw Walmart had them for $220 around February. You got screwed price-wise but you love your tablet, right?

(This reminds me of when my friend walked into Frys and bought a 2TB MBWE for $600 when I told him to check NewEgg first, set it up and checked NewEgg - $400. Instant gratification worth $200?)

-------------------
I used x11 forwarding to use Firefox on my tablet from my Desktop (install Grab and Drop plugin FTW) and watched some videos on Hulu (Flash 10). But of course it was very choppy. Though I say, so what? Just because it can't handle it well doesn't mean I don't want. Having a message tell me that my version is insufficient and not being able to do anything about it, is nothing but a slap in the face. **** Adobe (and before them, Macromedia).

Dude, I paid 220. You got lifted.

Anywho, try Mer. With mer you can install any ubuntu app, including full Firefox browser. It's possible with that full browser you can use full Adobe flash 10.0 Don't quote me on that though. I haven't tried it yet. I'll report back when I do.

This is not how flash works. Adobe has to release flash 10 for ARM processors before any of the tablets will be able to use it, no matter the software they run.
