Hi to all, I have an n810 and i'm trying to play videos on it. Programs installed:

Canola2 beta11
MPlayer
Mediabox Media Center
KMplayer

I use Internet Tablet Video Converter but no significant results...for example:

Canola2...NOT WORK

MPlayer...http://it.tinypic.com/r/ngv8dl/4

Mediabox...http://it.tinypic.com/r/2a4o2sx/4 or http://it.tinypic.com/r/klri8/4

KMPlayer...same as MPlayer

Any suggestions???

Hi vatastala,
what type of video files are you trying to convert? I've managed to convert loads that work fine but the odd one (usually an avi container with weird codec) doesn't work. I'm assuming that you can play the video files ok on the pc you are using for conversion? If not then you might need an additional CODEC file installed on the PC used for conversion.

Thank you for your answer. Yes, I'm trying to convert files divx ripped from dvd that I can play on my PC windows, the output of the conversion is an mp4 file. In which mode can I convert correctly files on my pc for my n810? what codec can I use? If exists a guide, please tell me...thank you very much

Hi,

supported video file formats can be found in the User Guide, on p. 38. The User Guide can be downloaded from Nokia site:

.mp4 is the extension. You need to know what codec is being used.

If you are on Windows I recommend you to download this app: http://castus.dnsalias.com:8080/share/n800vc0840.exe It is very easy to use and convert good xvid videos for n8x0 devices. It installs all you need.

The n8x0s plays the MPEG4-part2 (XVID & DIVX among others) codecs best and around 7-800kbps is optimal..

Other tools I can recommend is VirtualDub and TMPEGEnc for converting files.

Thank you very much claesbas, but I tryed with it but nothing...maybe I think I have video problems in my n810, because I used 2 times your program in 2 different PC, one with k-lite codec installed and one with nothing...but the result is the same as this:

MPlayer...http://it.tinypic.com/r/ngv8dl/4

Mediabox...http://it.tinypic.com/r/2a4o2sx/4 or http://it.tinypic.com/r/klri8/4

The settings used are:

I can't speak for Mediabox. But have you tried going in and out of Fullscreen (by pressing F on keyboard) and see if it resolves it..?

If you want to navigate around in the menus while playing a video file you are in no luck. Then the video will be crippled as in your screenshots. Best playback is usually in fullscreen mode.

Does the movie start with these artifact?
