On the N900, is there anything that reliably triggers the red LED? Or if a red LED exists at all?

I just realized that while I've seen other colors, I haven't yet seen the front LED in red... and, of course, I wonder if this could be yet another mysterious N900 hardware problem. If the device has a red LED, that is.

If you look in the manual it doesnt specify a red light. Maybe its not possible to activate just the red part of the LED, through software at least i mean.

There are 3 leds: red, green and blue. Combining them you can achieve any color. You can control them via files, located in /sys. Red is possible, but nobody uses it so far.

so there's currently no way to test if all 3 leds are working?

i see the point with "there wouldn't be orange/white", but my orange i would have identified as yellow - and the white led is a blueish kind of white. none of this really means anything, but it would be easier with a script or so that tests the 3 leds one at a time, no combinations.
