I guys,

I was just wondering wether there were any divers amongst the maemo community of developpers ...

I stumbled upon these incredible apps for Iphone and these would be extremely cool to have for divers owning Maemo devices (myself soon )

Just an idea

Would be great except that the N900 apparently doesn't support being a USB "host" -- I tried DiveLog many years ago because the Suunto tools don't run on Mac.

A way around this would be for the N900 app to accept export file from the most common dive log software on the market such as Suunto etc.

This way you can have you logbook with you and have access to some great tools as well.

But of course if it's just for a couple of divers owning a N900, I'm not sure anybody is going to work at it Too bad, this would be awesome !

You could try proposing them as apps with a more explicit title
I'm sure some of the devs might consider them.

I used this one on my Palm a couple of times (a long time ago now - the UK is too cold for diving for me!):

I was asking on a dive related board if any of the developers of Deco-.applications were interested to port their (iPhone) applications to N900, the answer was unfortunately deep silence.

There are several good applications available which should ( thinks me ) ported, like: iDeco and Baltic Deco planner. Then there has been an application called Free Planner, which may even have had a linux port, can't find the link right now.

I have done a simple gas-blender application ( in Python ) but have not had time to start porting it to N900, if there is a real programmer (tm) who would like to work with me on this - send me an email...

To mods, sorry if this is wrong forum, feel free to move this where ever it belongs...

Best Regards,
Pommi

Heey, this is growing rapidly!!!

I found something in the garage. Looks like it never really started.

So I guess re-porting is a better option.

Creativity is wonderfull, if only I had the skills....
Thanks for the support sofar!
