Seems unlikely. I guess it's too much to ask of the cpu/dsp to deal with the data rates you get with HD resolutions. Just as raw data, that's 900K pixels per frame, 25 frames a second, say 3 bytes per pixel. In total: a lot! The task of reducing the resolution only adds to the work needed.

mplayer in N900 would not play it. Is this a codec issue, or is it a video resolution/file size issue?
I have the Extra Decoders Support (ver 0.2-1) installed already.
