Haven't tried the default media player yet. but with panucci and mediabox when I receive an im the audio will play the alert but then i can't get audio from panucci and mediabox. only way to fix is to restart the program. though I am using bluetooth headphones so I will have to test without.

I'll re-write post once I am @ home. anyone else have this issue?

My assumption is that the OS freezes the app during the alert, and the gstreamer pipeline for playback gets somehow choked by this. Does loading a new file for playing help in MediaBox or is it really necessary to restart MediaBox?

I've tested it again (this time without bluetooth) and it seems that it works just fine without bluetooth. I also tested it with bluetooth and it works now..

Strange.
