So I have now lost count of the number of times I've tried to apt-get update and extras/testing/devel simply do not work.

Would there be interest in settings up a mirror of the repositories like Debian/Ubuntu do so they worked more often?

mirror is a good idea, this could also include to have a location based fwd to the closest.

I've had at least 10+ occasions on which the repos fail to update. Right now for instance they are not updating.

I'm assuming that this is down due to the previously announced server move. Normally the repositories are effectively mirrored around the world. It probably makes sense to hold off on any discussion of this until after the server move has completed and things have stabilized.

Actually I'm thinking about creating a VMWare/Virtualbox virtual machine for mirroring maemo's repositories, ready to deploy and distribute it...
So it will be quicker to deploy and maybe we'll se more mirrors quickly...
What do you guys think about it?

I'd love to hit it up for a few packages I want to get installed today if you would be so kind as to provide a link

If they really do have mirrors setup all over the world as is - how are all of them down?...
