I noticed that when I'm watching a youtube video for example that when I try and either increase or decrease the volume using the hardware vol button that i am only able to zoom in or out while watching the video??

How to adjust volume when watching online video?
You don't

Press the shutdown button so the menu pops up, and then you can use the volume rocker.

Tap the battery icon, there you can change the volume...
Id like the volume button to work as a volume button while browsing too.

Yup, when flash is focused, the volume keys work as volume (though maybe only in fullscreen, didn't try normal yet).

Make sure to have your video on full screen. Then you can use the volume buttons.
