Is such a thing possible with the os2006 version of opera - similar to the adblock extension for firefox?

or just something like flash block would help a lot.

Thanks, just found it in a older post. Will give it a try.

How similar is it to the old Proxomitron for windows?

In principle, a lot. In practice, not much :-)
(Linux way of doing things - no UI except for a web page, and lots of text config files)
But, versatile and efficient. Just need to read the docs...

And how about Opera-10 and Fremantle / N900?
(Ok previous post was 3 years ago.)

This guy describes a config file that works in the windows mobile and desktop versions.
