I would love to have a calander shortcut displaying the current date instad of the 12.

Since I read shortcuts are not dynamic how would I find someone who would make a widget that looks exactelly like the calander shortcut but would display the correct date.

I guess it should be fairly easy for anyone who has developed for Maemo

a) take 31 icons (day 1 to 31)
b) make a widget that gets the date and sets the icon

Making the Icons should not take longer then 20 minutes (this I know)
Making the widget should not take longer then 1 hours (this I am just guessing)

Any one who feels like doing it?

Regards Markus

This is a good idea.

Until it's implemented (if it is) you could use the calendar widget on your 'main' homescreen.

@jamil

I have the calender widgit right next to it. But this takes me to agenda view and I want to access the calander often in week view.

Let's see if any of the developers is sitting at home not knowing to do with his time :-)

Regards Markus

I have set the shortcut over the bottom corner of the widget. I can't put explicit details about my appointments into the calendar anyway (data protection) so I'm happy to have the widget info on my 'work' screen. And by having the shortcut, I get access to the 'week' view.

If anybody can tell me where does the calendar widget gets it's icons from, I believe that I can make a script.

I guess the Calendar Icon is here:
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48\hildon/general_calendar.png
or
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/64x64\hildon/general_calendar.png

But I'm not sure. Please try it yourself which one is the correct. GOOD LUCK!

Please re-read my previous post, I asked about the calendar widget icons (which happen to go from 1-31) not the calendar icon itself.

@all

Anyone knows where maemo stores the Date Icons for the calendar widget?

I guess it would make sence to make use of the existing icons.

a) you would not have to make your own
b) a little less space would be used
c) I guess themes would be recogniced

So anyone who can help azstunt ?

Markus

I have made a widget to replace the calendar shortcut.
If anyone would like to test it.
It's my very first maemo widget, use it at your own risk. :-)

As you can see it should
  • mimic the shortcut icon (if anyone has experience with SVG or Cairo and think he can make a better one, let my know)
  • you can tab on it to open the calendar.
  • and configure which view to open (week, month, agenda)
