The new update has been announced but I haven't received the ota advice and its not available using the nokia pc updater which says I've got the latest version!

Yes. It does matter. Somebody accidentally deleted Great Britain from Nokia's 'countries_to_get_firmware_update' table. Until they add it we wont be getting any firmware updates. I am planning to move back to Antartica where firware updates reach before it reaches UK :-)
