Hey guys.

Every time I need to use the ‘Flashlight’ app I have to open the camera cover then close the camera app and then open ‘flashlight’.

Is there a way when I open the camera cover to bring down a option menu to select the camera/flashlight or QIK app to use??????? Would be really really handy. What do you guys think?

Ok. Maybe someone can tell me when I open the camera switch on the back, where is the app that automatically launches?? I might make my own software.

Sounds like a good idea for an app.

I'm looking for similar functionality. Would be good to know if we can detect the state of the phone to enable the flash. For instance

When camera lid is opened:
1. Phone locked: Launch flashlight
2. Screen off: Launch flashlight
3. Screen on: Launch camera

Something like that would make it really useful.

the simplest mode of operation

if proximity = "dark" & slide = open then flashlight
then quick double "focus" switch to camera

The application that reacts to slide open is the camera application (camera-ui). It is always running, and when it detects camera cover open it opens its window. You can change the cover open hal name, thus preventing camera-ui from opening a window. See here:

replace cam_launch with cam_shutter for the camera cover.
