I have the same question, I have been Googel'ing and searching all kinds of forums and came up empty handed.

I can't find any program that would support any way of uploading my own maps onto the N900 and then use them to navigate.

Android have a awesome app for this called OruxMaps ( http://www.oruxmaps.com/ ) that I have seen in action and it does exactly what I am looking for, only problem is that I don't own a Android phone ^^ I know about the Android porting to the N900, but seems a bit radical to re flash my N900 just to try and get sea chart navigation going.

So maybe someone else out there has some tips regarding this topic?

seems there is no similiar app. I have ozi maps as well from my old ipaq yet, which could be used on symbian S60 too.

now i sarted to use maep. it requires to be online to load maps, but you can preload then into the cache directory and them in offline mode. Even I can see one advantage over ozi maps. openstreet and opencyclemap, which are pretty useful in its detail.
