That's true some basic features like this are a must have. Likewise if someone reads out a number to you and you do type it in the dialling pad while on call you can't do anything with it; to make it worse it would disappear as and when the call ends. That's expected I guess, but again that's a feature gone down the drain!

I surely don't have an idea about the call log question but @nrajesh taking notes on a call or even recording a call is a piece of cake with multitasking. Have you tried?

It will show up in recent call if you didn' clear the list.

I am talking abt jotting down phone numbers while on call in the phone app so that I can call later. u can't do it on the phone app but sure u can do it on notes etc.; what I have mentioned again boils down to the issue reported by @ddiscodave. U can't access phone app for doing any other actions while on call!

was able to do it with my n82 but i needed to do it this evening for the first time and i couldnt seem to get in. i wanted to make a call to a number that is not a contact. just a number that had come in and i never saved as a contact. what am i missing?
any help will be appreciated.
If I start the Phone app, I get to the call log and directly see the phone numbers I have used, and the phone numbers of incoming calls from people I don't have in my contacts.

okay everyone let's settle down.... let me clarify what i mean by all of this.
during an active phone call, i used to be able to open up the call log on my n82 and get a number or contact. it seems to me that i cannot do this now on the n900. aside form the used of the extended cal llog app, is there a way to simply get into the native call log and access the log??
