Hi All,

I recently downloaded the MMS app using the application download manager. In addition to that I downloaded a few games and a KMplayer.

All of a sudden my battery is draining a lot faster than before. It lasts only for 4 hours or so. The phone gets really really hot. I have to keep switching it off and taking off the battery to cool it down.

I think I should reformat it or something. I have no clue how to.

I have since uninstalled the MMS apps. However, in my internet connection, it keeps showing the mms as internet instead of t-mobile.

On the whole, I love my N900, and really would like to get it work normal again.

Please help.

Shan

I'm not sure if it helps, let's try:

Code:
apt-get install fmms
apt-get autoremove fmms --purge
The first line reinstall the fmms and the second line remove it with purge option which is supposed to remove the configuration left.

If it doesn't work we shall try something else.

- install rootsh
- open x term, type the command root
- then do the apt-get things

So I downloaded roots. Typed it in x term. Put in the comments as well. Installed and uninstalled it. I still see the MMS connection in the internet connections list under settings. Would flashing take care of this? I don't want to go through the trouble of no.1 figuring out how to flash correctly, no.2 losing all data I have accumulated since only to see that this MMS connection is still sitting in my phone.

So still hoping someonw would be able to help.

The fmms issue with connecting automatically to the wrong apn is a known issue, solution here in the wiki.

If your device is constantly trying to draw data through the wrong apn, I suppose that might make it warm (??). Mine was warm and inefficient on and off for a few days after the last update - people said it was due to it having to recreate datalists for everything I opened. It righted itself after a few days and a couple of deliberate reboots.

Question: does your n900 still get warm when connected to wifi?
