hey, what i want is an app or script that locks the desktop so you cant scroll thru the other three. but they still stay enabled. so my primary desktop is still available and has a little shortcut that runs the app/script and when the desktops are locked the icon changes so you know thats theyre locked. is this at all possible?

any ideas anyone?

nothing of that sort atm in ovi or extras repo... But why would you want to do that, considering you can remove the unneeded desktops or just avoid scrolling if you have what you need on your main desktop? Anyway, maybe some of the linux gurus here might be able to suggest better alternatives...

i have my reasons for wanting it done haha but i would really like it to happen i have no knowledge in linux so no dice for me making it

blwthompson, i think u'll find that u won't get much response if you aren't willing to be more co-operative.....saying "i have my reasons for wanting it" won't help you at all.....you have to try and justify why there's a need for such an app.....i'm just trying to help you and nothing else, cheers.

hahah sorry... was tired last night... basically i want it so when people pickup and look at my fone they cant get to the personal material that lays on the other desktops... and also sometimes i just dont want to be able to scroll through and i dont want to deactivate them because it means that i have to reactivate and reorder them which is annoying~

fair point....but how much of personal stuff can you / do you keep on desktop? Because for things such as smses and pictures - you can not display them on the desktop and then maybe notes or bookmarks can not be displayed on the desktop.....I'm trying to figure out what could be put on desktop that a person wouldn't want another to see.....

I thought so, but all over this forum are many methods of hiding or coverinng photos (not that I understand them), so might be worth searching through them and seeing what applies best to you.....and in regards to sticky notes i'd guess just go to page number 45 although you may have only used 3 pages.....or maybe don't display it on ur desktop??? i'm not sure what else you could do....cheers

heheh read that stuff, not relevant in this instance i need to be able to lock my desktops from scrolling thanks for advice though
