Hi

Since PR1.2, Modest doesn't seem give me the option to sort my inbox by date. This is really annoying, because the default (and now only option) is to put newer emails at the top*. At first I suspected this was just me, but I reflashed to the pre-1.2 firmware, and the sort options are there. I have tried the uk firmware as well as the global, and reflashed the EMMC, and the sort option has not popped up again.

Does anyone know how to get the option back, or failing that, if it is possible to edit a config file to set the sort options manually.

I also wondered if this setting was preserved from before the update. Has anyone updated to 1.2 with their inbox set to sort messages with new emails at the bottom and had this setting preserved. If so, then I could presumably reflash to the earlier firmware, set the sort the way I want, then upgrade again. (?)

- I should mention, I use Nokia Messaging for email, though I have also tried gmail imap and it still doesn't work.

*btw, the reason I find this annoying is that I like to read emails in the order they come in, deleting them as I go. But now, deleting an email I am viewing drops me back into the previous (older) email, which I have just read, meaning I have to navigate to the actual next email. This may sound minor, but it bugs me - it worked perfectly before 1.2

Apparently you don't need it. Nokia thinks too many sorting options are unnecessary, because you can search for mails. That you don't know what to search for is something that hasn't yet occurred.

All sorting has been removed and there are no plans to re-introduce it.

Welcome.
