A friend has sent me an e-mail with a text document in MsWord (.doc) format.

I've already Abiword and OpenOffice installed in my Nokia N900 device, but I don't know how to open this file directly from the Maemo's e-mail application. It says that cannot find the program to open this type of document.

The same problem occurs when I try to open documents from the filemanager.

aren't those (abiword & openoffice) installed to easy debian?

you need to modify file extension handler if you want to open docs from email or file manager.

I've AbiWord installed from some Maemo repository, and OpenOffice from EasyDebian image data.

How can I modify file extension handler?

Using Dbus-Switchboard. See here:

Ok, I've found dbus-switchboard package in Extras-Devel repository, and works very well.

With the filemanager is only needed to associate with the same Dbus-Switchboard.

Thanks.
