TomAmp is a simple playlist-based music player that can save/load playlists, play back most popular formats and also shoutcast streams. It's purpose is to be small, quick, and easy to use.

Features include:
  • Playlist controls
  • Equalizer
  • Shoutcast support
  • Many file formats supported
  • Portrait/Landscape/Automatic orientation
  • Easy-to-use and configurable UI

The newest version is: 0.4.4

Big fonts/buttons

Small fonts/buttons, alternate button set

Settings dialog

Portrait mode

Portrait mode, volume bar

Equalizer

The package can be found in extras-devel, but it can be installed directly from .deb, since it's only depending on Qt (PR 1.2 is needed).

The package page: http://maemo.org/packages/view/tomamp/

It would be nice to hear back from people willing to try it. You can post bugreports or requests or comments here, or to my e-mail address.

Thanks

Since the code used features specific to newer Qt releases (4.6+), I think that supporting that platform would require too much work to be feasible...

Do you know what format do they stream in?

If the backend supports it, then it's possible.

hi T
Just installed, seems nice and simple. What I see missing (as you say it's not feature complete, this is probably planned):
1: possible to rearrange song order
2: remember folder when adding songs (takes time as adding a song and going one folder up for next song jumps to top of folder)

A few bugs:
1: when saving a playlist, the default path seems invalid, so playlist doesn's save, and no error given.
2: for some reasom, one folder shows 0 files, but filled with mp3 files...

@Den in USA: after some further inspection it seems possible to build it for Qt 4.5 (maybe even 4.4). I will try it tonight and report back here.

@nikolajhendel: Yes, playlist ordering functions are planned for the next release. Thank you for the bug reports too!

Hi,

tried, but build errors occured. They don't seem to be severe, I'll try to fix them in the near future, and will let you know when it is fixed.

Tamas

Edit: I mean the diablo build, of course.

Otherwise I like the simpleness.
