I’ve just linked my hotmail account to nokia messaging so that emails could get pushed to my n900's email as they arrived.

But the problem is they never get pushed. I’ve even sent some emails to myself from another account but they don’t show up on the n900 nokia messaging until half an hour later for some reason even though the account on the n900 is set to sync mail as soon as possible

Does anyone know if this is a bug or am I missing anything?
Thanks

Sorry if this has been discussed before I couldn’t find it

yeah thats the same way i have to check if i have any new mail by pressing the send/recive button. But i thought the whole purpose of a push service was to alert you the second it comes up in ur mailbox.

settings-incoming messages or something(its the third bar)
then you will always get a message(like an sms)if you got an new email but only if you are online

Yes it does push emails immediately but as Nokia Messaging has Nokia in it you can't expect it to work pain free. My messages are usually pushed immediately but sometimes I suffer delays of like 15 minutes and sometimes even an hour.

Yeah i figure out what the problem was. for some reason if you are using the n900's IM feature (im using msn haze and skype) and they are activated it does not updated ur mail automaticaly unless u press the send/recive button. But if you go offline on the IM then you autimaticaly start reciving mail on your N900 as it comes to your inbox. to me it seems like the IM and Email are clashing somehow.

ok, here is my issue guys...
I got the phone last year and managed to set up the nokia messaging with my 4 email accounts...2 yahoo, 1 gmail and 1 hotmail. It was working fine. I had to send my phone to repair and I got a new one instead.
I'm trying to set up my emails again...I tried with nokia messaging...all 4 accounts showed up but none was working
I am trying to set up all manually now.

Anyone has some clue why is this happening?
Thanks in advance

I had the same error and gave up trying to work it out. my isp email and googlemail all work fine tho. Hotmail email seems to be a problem with the n900.
