After installing kernel-power (from the extras repository) on a PR1.2 system, my GPS stopped working (it never gets a lock). I have simply installed kernel-power, and not tweaked any of the settings yet.

location-test-gui lists 0 satellites in use, no matter how many are in view. The carrier/noise ratio of the satellites is ~30dBHz on average.

This continues not to work when I revert to the stock kernel. Anyone else having this problem? And short of reflashing, does anyone have any ideas as to what to try?

I'm using the stock kernel now, but I've had the power kernel installed in the past and it still gets a GPS lock just fine.

Actually I just got a lock in about 5 seconds! Indoors!

one idea i had is that it might not be installing some required kernel module. i couldn't find anything likely looking either through googling or by grepping lsmod and /lib/modules/*

does anyone know if there's a kernel module corresponding to the gps and if so what it is?

hm - managed to get it working, though i'm not really sure why. i reinstalled the power kernel, since from what gameboyrmh said it was likely not the problem, rebooted, then cleared the gps cache using the script from https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7026#c35 and it suddenly started working again. the weird thing is, i've cleared the cache several times without it helping; no idea why it worked now.

Hi, I have same problem with internal gps after installing kernel-power: no satellites. But external bluetooth GPS works fine.

I deinstalled power kernel, rebooted several times. Also I used utility to clear GPS cache. GPS didn't work.
I installed power kernel again and rebooted. GPS started to work.
It's very strange.
