Hi,
if theres a thread which is about my problem, pls give me the link and dont say use the search
So far i tried to do some research but didnt find anything.

My Problem is, that on the main menu Item "Pictures"(in German its "Fotos"), i only see 215 pictures in the slideshow. Even if i open a newer one from the FileManager which isnt listed it opens but from the opened slideshow i only come to the older ones, the newer ones arent shown. I tried to play with the data option, the folder option and so on but nothing helped...

Perhaps someone here has the same Problem or nows how to fix it.

Sorry for my poor english and thanks for your help

Can't find any bugs on it. Also, several people here have tons of images and it hasn't been reported AFAICT.

Did the thumbnailer have enough time to go through all images? After reboot, did you let it idle for a while to go through? Do all your images have thumbnails? Maybe a corrupted/unsupported image is doing it.

Did you change the camera's setting to shoot from internal to card? That could have forced sorting in an odd order.

I don't have the problem you list, however, if I open only an image or have a filter on, it only slides through those. Maybe you are using a non-standard folder? That could get them indexed but not scrolled through, say, add a "myShots" instead of using .images. I'm just guessing at this point.

In Filemanager yes. But the videos are shown only with the VideoroleThumbnail.
After i now restarted the Phone, i waited ~15mins, opened "Pictures" only 134 Pics
Gone to FileManager, scrolled slowly through the "DCIM"/"Kamera" Folder, that the Thumbnails could be loaded/build (dont know whether it already had done it, some of the pics are from July...) any of the pics looks broken or something...
Now if i close the FileManager and Open it again, the Thumbnails are there.
But in the Slideshow there arent more than before...

Im using the standard Folder, dont know whether its normal, but, if i connect it as a mass storage with the pc, the folder is called "DCIM", but in the Filemanager its "Kamera".
And when i open tracker-cfg, theres ".camera" folder listed. In XTerm i can't cd to .camera...
EDIT: Tried to cd to "Kamera" wont go... cd to DCIM works
Perhaps somehow its a bug that came with an upgrade? Don't know...
And i tried to switch the Filter Settings in many ways...
Even to the specific folder doesnt work.

And now.... if i turn the settings for the Folder to "StandardfolderofCamera" it says 134 and on "All Pictures" it says 215, but the non Kamera Pictures are without Thumbnails, switching in Slideshow to it brings up the Message "Picture not available anymore" and there arent any Details available...
Sorry, but im confused and u?

Until the CPU dies down. And yes, I think 10 mins is enough.

Grosse problem. That means that at some point during indexing it encountered an issue and either hung or cored, leaving you with issues.

Image viewer works based on the index, not real life folders. It takes the list from the tracker pass, then, should thumbs be there, it uses those (otherwise black images or "broken" images, depending on situation).

The fact that your videos have no thumbs means it crashed, likely that it never finished indexing, which is why you have partial lists.

Crashed. Either an image is corrupted, some data is corrupted, maybe the file system.

The folder can't be changed, it's always DCIM. It can be changed to card (also DCIM).

The file manager on the device calls it "Camera", but it's actually the DCIM it looks into. The "Images" points to ".images". The reason this happens is for localization, in your case "Kamera" points to DCIM.

Working as designed.

Picture No Longer Available means that it was indexed by the tracker, but deleted, as in, the viewer can't find it.

I'd connect the device to the PC in Mass Storage mode, move all images from ".images" and "DCIM" to desktop, disconnect N900 (safely remove or equivalent).

Then connect again and copy them back. Once safely removed from the PC a second time, the tracker will try to re-index everything. Let it. See how that fares.

Also, for the duration of the exercise I'd move all videos from the device to desktop, live it less excuse to hang.

If all fails, you can simply format the mass storage device, after copying all from it, then restore after format. Also, fsck could help in this case.

But it makes a lot more sense that you simply have a broken image somewhere that dumps the load on tracker-process.

Oh, and, after you have moved all images, you could also reset the tracker database to start fresh. I think it's "tracker-processes --hard-reset". Do a search before typing stuff I half-remember into terminal.
