Hi there,

this is actually not for me (I am in love with my beautiful N900 since day one... well, more in marriage considering the fights every now and then ;D) but for a flatmate.
She wants to know which phone would be suitable for her. She has her eyes on the Galaxy S from Samsung and asked me for advice, but as I am not really following the Android phones I guess I should ask here. She would be using it for general stuff, no hacking or rooting (I guess) or anything too fancy. Like checking emails, maybe then social networking, also phoning and messaging are important. Some surfing and a small vid every now and then. Cam doesn't have to be perfect and regarding "only touch" she said it doesn't matter. I guess some fancy apps would be nice to have and also some bling-bling.
The iPhones are out of question for her as well als Nokia (well, sometimes you don't know what you miss. Am I right fellow nokians? ^^)

Any suggestions are welcome and thanks for the input.

Cheers,

mikki-kun

tell her to make her own mind up. then she cant blame anyone if she makes a cockup with her purchase.(women are good at shifting blame. DONT let her) lol

why not take her to a phone shop and get her to demo a few?
as everyones opinion will differ.

Go to the shop, let her play with the devices.

If she's particular, ask her to make a list of what to try at the shop.

It's more important to her that you're with her and shows your support toward her throughout this process than the actual decision.

Thanks for the input, I'll see how much I can help her and how much help she wants in the process of trying the phones.
She told me a friend of hers has the Galaxy S, hence I recommended her to ask her friend if she can try it for a some minutes but she said she "doesn't want to" (not sure of the wording but it was more of "I don't want to try" - Bad attitude imho in choosing a device)
I guess I'll see it then when she either asks for more help or when she has it then. I don't want to interfere too much as I am a total geek and am more looking for the possible capabilities the device has (Still in love with my N900 ^^ - Soon dual-booting with Nitdroid).

Cheers and thanks again.
