hi
I accidentally installed an application my menu from extras testing and it arranged all my menu icons in alphabetical order. i tried reordering but it didn't worked so i removed the app and tried again but got the same result!

it is not a really a big issue but i would like to have nokia's original icons positions or at-least ability to customize the icon positions on my own! can someone please help me!

To customise on your own you just long press an icon and it goes to edit mode. Tap the icon you want to move, then tap where you want it to go. Hit 'done' when you finish

yes i tried that several times but its not working! for some reason they are ordering in alphabetical order only.

Have you tried Catorise it does the same thing and now has a GUI, I've never installed either so cannot tell you if it would be any better.

Hmm, i'd actually like mine to arrange alphabetically!

The only thing i can think of, if it only happened after installing an app, is that it hasn't removed properly.

If you have rootsh installed, go to x-term and run:

sudogainroot
apt-get clean
apt-get autoclean
apt-get autoremove

that will remove any unwanted lingering packages

@ richwhite yes i tried the autoremove method and did several reboots same thing no change, only problem with alphabetical line up is that key app are located @ bottom of the table
@jonww- i was catorise user for longtime but removed it because of same icon images (kinda got sick of it) but if it nothing worked i will start using it!

Weird issue , I never used that app OP does that app had GUI ? were there any settings available to change? Try reinstalling and checking that , also if it doesnt work contact developer he might be able to help you

thanks everyone! this app is similar to catorise, but icons images can be changed (i think) I updated to newer version by enabling devel, which had gui a window which updates and then close by itself....found no settings to change... and when i removed it.... damn app removed all the icons except some of nokia default ! no HAP no xterm lol.... !
