I was just wondering, for those who have the Nokia 770 already, if you can configure retrieving of emails at the background when the unit or screen if off.

Thanks.

Looks like only manual retreival. I don't see anywhere an option to auto-retrieve.

It's a good idea though, I'll pass it up.

Good news Reggie you can auto-retrieve! After an E-Mail account has been created you can hit Menu>E-Mail>Scheduling. You can specify the Start and End times and select what Day(s) to retrieve new mail. You can also set what intervals you want to do a retrieve.

That's great news! But how does it do it? Can you specify what type of connection to use by default (BT or WiFi)? Or, if WiFi, can you configure it to use a specific connection or, what ever is available?

Thanks for the info!

You have the ability to set a default access point for the tablet. There's also a checkbox there to give the default access point permission to connect when/if needed automatically.

I'll work with it a little bit and see if I can do it from any random hotspot.

EDIT:

Just to claify...This is on the 2005 Edition (which the 770 will be released with). Sorry for any confusion.
