Hi I have tried one or two differnt themes, but mainly just used the wallpaper/desktop changes to adjust my phone.

One thing I wondered was...

When I open the phone - the background is black
When I open the email - the background is black
When I open the Media Player - the background is black
etc etc

Is there a way to adjust the background colour GLOBALLY to make all the default apps change to use it, or even a picture?

Or do other themes achieve this?

CHeers,

J

usr/share/themes/foo/gtk-2.0/gtkrc

There's some stuff like "color["DefaultBackgroundColor"] = "#000000""

You might want to look into those.

Also, changing them will fsck up the buttons, since they are bordered with the color used originally by the theme.

thanks, yes potential to fsck a few things up there no doubt. I tried theme customizer but it only changes the bg of App manager, Music home screen.

I think it would be cool if you could change the bg colour globally with this so that things like the phone, email, calendar, conversations, etc etc could all take on a different colour (or image) from the standard Black.

Perhaps a combination of theme customizer (to change the buttons) and your suggestion above might achieve this,

I just told ya how to do that.

You need to install rootsh and leafpad or nano.

And type
Code:
root
Code:
cd /usr/share/themes/
Code:
ls
will list the availtable themes
Code:
cd {themename}
Code:
cd gtk-2.0
Code:
leafpad gtkrc
or
Code:
nano gtkrc
And find the aforementioned lines
