I wouldnt reflash right away if you have a backup restore your communications that should clear the text that is causing the reboot if no backup you could try to open xterm and type rm -rf .rtcom-eventlogger
I think that will clearr your conversations but I'm not positive just wait for some more replies before you go and reflash

Disable the lifeguard-reset:
flasher-3.5 --set-rd-flags=no-lifeguard-reset
reboot your device and try to recover or delete the conversation db

If the reboot loop is caused by the sms your friend send to you,
you can remove the database where the sms messages are stored:
In xterm:
cd /home/user/.rtcom-eventlogger
rm el-v1.db
But this will remove all your messages, of course.
