Hi,

I am a total novice working with this Linux based software. I want to install: GPE PIM and would like someone to take me step by step through proccess (including best site to get it). I'm having difficulty working with "application manager" and figuring how it installs the software. I just got a 1 gig MMC mobile card and started reading about partitioning, so I can install directly on the memory card. Seems like a series of complicated steps. Can anyone describe this proccess so my primitive mind can grasp the steps? I love the machine, I just am not taking full advantages of its capabilities. Although I have to say I was able to finally install the "mapper" program (just don't ask me to do it again).

I. Download GPE PIM http://ossostage.cidercone.com/.
For which version to download look here: http://maemo.org/community/wiki/codenames/.
You will probably want "maemo 2.2 'gregale' repository" is your Nokia 770 IT is up to date.

II. To add new repositories to your 770 running the 2006 OS, select Tools > Application Manager, then hit the title bar or menu key, select Tools > Application catalog… and away you go.

III. Refresh the packages;
IV. GPE PIM should appear on the "installable applications" section -- or in the "Updates" section if already installed;
V. Hit install or update;
VI. Accept the license agreement;
VII. Choose the folder where you want the GPE PIM icon;
VIII. Reboot the device! It will not work properly if you don't reboot correctly.

Do I just download the last item? "Maemo-packages -- 2.2.csv" or is there more that I can download? And do I manually enter the repositories or do they automatically get installed?
